🔐 How to Create a Private Integration (GHL) for Data Migration

This guide will walk you through creating a Private Integration in GoHighLevel (GHL) so we can help you move your data from another GHL base system into My Studio Manager.

You will remain in full control of your account at all times.

Note: Allowing access via API may be against your terms of service with the other provider - we recommend only performing this task if you are sure that you are allowed to.

What you’ll need

• Access to your GHL based account.

• About 5 minutes

Step 1: Go to Private Integrations

1. Log into your GHL based account.

2. Click Settings (bottom left corner)

3. Scroll down and click Private Integrations

Step 2: Create a New Integration

1. Click + Create Integration

2. Name it: Data Migration

Step 3: Select Permissions (IMPORTANT)

You will see a list of permissions (called “scopes”).

Please ONLY enable the following:

• Contacts → Read & Write

• Tags → Read & Write

• Custom Fields → Read & Write

• Custom Values → Read & Write

• Calendars → Read & Write

• Opportunities → Read & Write

Note: Even if you do provide us access to additional scopes our system will not access or transfer anything outside of the above listed items.

Do NOT enable these

Please leave ALL of the following turned OFF:

• Workflows / Automations

• Funnels / Websites

• Conversations / Messages

• Payments / Invoices

• Media / Files

• Memberships / Courses

• Any other permissions not listed above
  

Step 4: Copy Your API Key

1. Click Save / Create Integration

2. You will be shown an API Key

3. Click Copy

Step 5: Send Us Your API Key

Please send us:

• Your API Key

• Your Location ID - This can be found usually in your GHL URL - an example of this using our URL is https://app.mystudiomanager.com.au/v2/location/YUF1KN756GvMw3422xUr92/contacts/

You can paste this directly into your onboarding form or send it via email.

What Happens Next

Once we receive your API key, we will:

• Connect to your account

• Transfer your selected data into My Studio Manager

• Ensure everything is set up correctly

We will only access:

• your contacts

• your tags

• your custom fields & values

• your calendar setups

• your pipeline/opportunity data

Your Control & Security

• You can delete this integration at any time after migration

• No data outside of your account is accessed

• No workflows, automations, or templates are copied

• You remain in full control of your account
