Note: Hive Projects is a 3rd party integration. This video has been provided by the developer.
Projects are the foundation of HIVE PROJECTS. Every workflow, task, procedure, and request lives inside a project. Whether you’re organising enrolments, admin work, staff processes, event prep, or internal studio operations, you will begin by creating a project.
This guide walks you through creating a new project and setting up its basic structure.
To create a new project:
Open HIVE PROJECTS
Click Add Project
You’ll then be asked to fill in the following details:
Give your project a clear and meaningful name.
Examples:
Test Project
Term 1 Admin Tasks
Show Prep
New Student Onboarding
HIVE automatically shows the users in your My Studio Manager sub-account.
Select the team members you want added to this project.
You will always be included automatically.
Choose a colour to visually label your project.
This makes it easy to identify in your project list.
Click Create to finish.
You now have a brand-new project ready for setup.
Once your project is created, click its name to open it.
Inside your project, you’ll see several views:
Board View (card/column layout)
List View
Requests (if the request system is enabled)
Dashboard
Archive
For now, focus on Board View, which is the most common workspace.
Every project needs workflow steps — these are the columns your tasks will move through.
To add a column:
Click Add Column
Enter a name
Choose a colour
Save
Common examples:
To Do
In Progress
Review
Completed
Here’s an example setup shown in the video:
To Do – yellow
In Progress – light blue
Review – purple
Completed – green
You can create any structure you want and adjust it later.
Once the columns are created, you can add tasks.
Click Add Task inside any column
Give it a name (e.g. This is a test task)
Assign a user (optional)
Add details as needed
This task can now be managed, moved, and updated like any other task in HIVE PROJECTS.
Once your project is active, you can use:
Archive Tasks
Delete Tasks
Templates
Procedures
Requests
Automations
These features are explained in the help articles that follow, but they all build on the foundation of having a properly created project.
