Some forms inside My Studio Manager include a setting called Sticky Contact. This feature helps your studio correctly match form submissions to the right family — especially when a parent is already logged in or has submitted a form before.
Here’s what it means and how it works.
“Sticky Contact” simply means that the form will automatically attach a customers submission to the same contact record that they used previously.
In other words:
If they have filled out a form before,
and they use the same device/browser again,
the system will recognise them
and update their existing account instead of creating a new one.
This helps prevent duplicate accounts and keeps your student and parent information neat and accurate. It also helps reduce the need for a customer to have to enter the same information in multiple times if the same form records are used in other forms.
Sticky Contact is designed to:
Make forms faster to complete
Reduce the need to re-enter your details
Prevent duplicate parent records
Keep your studio’s records clean
Ensure all your children stay linked to the right parent profile
This is especially important for multi-child families because the system needs to know which parent record to attach each child to.
While Sticky Contact is very helpful, there are a few situations where it may behave differently than expected:
If two parents use the same phone or computer to fill out forms — for example, both parents filling in their child’s enrolment details using an iPad at your reception — the form may “stick” to the first parent’s contact unless the browser history is cleared. This will override the first persons information with the second.
Because Sticky Contact attaches each submission to the same parent, the system assumes each child belongs to the same account — which is usually what you want.
However, if the form uses numbered fields (Student 1, Student 2, Student 3), the order in which the children are entered becomes very important.
This happens because the system recognises the device and pre-fills the contact information for convenience.
Here are some simple steps for parents:
If you’re submitting a form for a second child, simply submit the form again — Sticky Contact ensures both children go under the same family profile.
If another parent needs to fill out the form separately, use a different device or open the form in a private/incognito browser window.
If the form shows incorrect auto-filled details, clear your browser autofill or switch to an incognito window.
Studios choose Sticky Contact because it:
Keeps information clean and consistent
Reduces admin time
Prevents duplicated records
Ensures automations and messaging go to the right family
Helps track siblings correctly
Makes parent accounts easier to manage in the long run
It’s an important tool to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
