Accessing the Insights tab
1. In the Class Manager module, select your location group from the list and click the eye (view) icon to open the group details.
2. Use the tabs at the top of the group to select Insights. The Insights tab aggregates information about your classes, students and revenue.
Dashboard metrics
The top of the Insights page displays summary cards showing key metrics for your organisation:
- Total groups: the number of groups (calendars) configured in your location.
- Top group: the group that has the highest number of classes or bookings.
- Total classes: the total number of class events across all calendars.
- Average students/class: how many students attend on average per class. This helps you measure class utilisation.
- Total students: the total number of unique students enrolled.
- Most appearing student: the student with the highest attendance across all classes.
- Total revenue: revenue from class bookings collected through integrated payment methods.
- Last week’s classes: the number of classes that ran in the previous seven days.
Charts and graphs
Below the summary cards, the Insights page provides interactive charts:
- Attendance summary: a doughnut chart that breaks down the proportion of students marked Present, Absent or Unknown (not yet marked). Use this to identify attendance trends.
- Class strength: a bar chart showing the number of seats filled vs. seats available in your classes. This helps you understand utilisation and when to open new sessions.
- Upcoming classes (next 7 days): a timeline listing classes scheduled in the next week. Hover over a class to view its date, time and the group it belongs to.
- Monthly revenue: a column chart showing total revenue by month. This makes it easy to track seasonality in bookings and identify growth.
- Class distribution by group: a pie chart dividing classes by group/category so you can see which groups run more sessions.
- Class popularity by ticket type: a bar chart comparing ticket types (trial, standard, season etc.) by number of bookings. This helps you optimise pricing strategies.
Using the insights
- Identify high-performing groups: If one group is consistently the top performer or fills its seats, consider adding additional sessions or increasing capacity.
- Monitor attendance: Low attendance or high absenteeism will show up in the Attendance summary; follow up with parents or adjust scheduling.
- Plan seasons: Use the Monthly revenue chart to determine peak months and schedule more classes accordingly.
- Adjust pricing: The Class popularity by ticket type chart helps you decide which ticket structures work best (single sessions vs. seasonal packages).
By regularly reviewing these analytics, you can make data-driven decisions to improve class offerings, marketing and resource allocation.
