Transcript
Welcome to this step-by-step guide on completing your business profile in the system. Completing your business profile is a crucial first step in the setup process. It establishes your business’s identity and ensures that you’re eligible to send messages to your audience. In this lesson, we’ll explain the importance of completing your profile, guide you through the process efficiently, and share some valuable best practices.
So let’s dive in.
Step 1: General Information
Once you’ve logged into the system, navigate to your account settings on the bottom of the left sidebar. This will default by opening your business profile settings, which is where we’ll focus throughout this lesson.
Start with the Friendly Business Name. This is the name that represents your business without any legal suffixes like LLC or Inc. For example, if your legal business name is Escalate Marketing LLC, here you should put Escalate Marketing.
Next, enter your Legal Business Name. This must precisely match what’s registered with your business registration number or EIN.
Business Email and Phone
Your business email and phone number are essential. Avoid using free emails like @gmail.com or @yahoo.com. Instead, opt for a branded email (e.g., [email protected]). This enhances professionalism and ensures email delivery throughout the system.
Don’t have one yet? Visit Google Workspace to set up a professional email.
Website and Niche
Provide the URL of your business website if you have one. If you don’t, you can create a simple landing page or contact page to fulfill this requirement. Also, select the niche that best represents your business. Click Update Information to save your changes.
Step 2: Business Address
Enter your complete business address, including street, city, state/province, postal code, and country. Don’t forget to accurately select your time zone to avoid scheduling and communication errors. Click Update Information.
Step 3: Business Information
Select your business type (sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, cooperative, LLC, or nonprofit). If you have a Tax EIN, it is preferred to use it here. Alternatively, you can use your business license information.
List your regions of operation—states, provinces, or countries. Click Update Information.
Step 4: Authorised Representative
Enter the full name, email address, job title, and phone number of your authorised representative. This is typically the person responsible for running your business. Click Update Information to save.
Completing your business profile is not just a formality—it’s the cornerstone of your digital presence and system functionality. By keeping your profile accurate and following best practices, you set your business up for success.
It’s an ongoing process, so be sure to update your profile regularly to stay current and compliant with regulations. A well-maintained profile ensures smooth operations and effective communication within the system.
