Transcript
In the world of web design, consistency is key. Your website should reflect your brand identity seamlessly across all pages. This lesson will show you the power of using a branded page as your design foundation, leveraging global sections for consistency within a site or funnel, and templates for a consistent design.
Visual consistency
A cohesive look across your website reinforces your brand identity, making it easily recognisable to visitors.
Time efficiency
Designing each page from scratch is time-consuming. Branded pages, global sections, and templates save you time and effort.
Error reduction
Reusing global sections and templates reduces the risk of design inconsistencies or errors within a site or funnel.
Easy updates
When it’s time for a rebrand or design update, you can make changes to your branded page, global sections, or templates and see them reflected where applicable.
Now let’s talk about how to use a branded page as a design template for any site page.
Step 1: Create your branded page
Begin by designing a single page that embodies your brand’s visual identity. Choose your brand’s colour palette, font, header style, footer style, and other key design elements and ensure this page represents your brand’s unique personality accurately.
Step 2: Save as a global section for cohesiveness within one site or one funnel
Once your branded page is ready, save its various sections as global sections. Use those global sections as templates that can be reused within the same site or funnel, preserving consistent design when editing.
Step 3: Save as templates for cross-site or cross-funnel design
To enable cross-site or funnel design, save your branded page sections as templates. Templates can be used in different sites or funnels but will not carry over specific colours, only formatting.
Implementation steps:
When designing, choose the global sections you saved from your branded page to maintain consistent formatting, colours, and images across one site or funnel.
Whereas if you import the templates you saved from your branded page, they’ll pull in the formatting and you’ll be able to customise the content while maintaining the consistent design format. Note that the templates will not carry over specific colours, ensuring flexibility across different projects.
Lastly, update your brand as needed
To adapt to changes in your brand’s identity, modify the branded page, global sections, and templates.
By mastering the use of branded pages, global sections, and templates, you simplify your site and funnel design processes, maintain consistent branding, and save valuable time.
Global sections are ideal for ensuring a uniform look within one site or funnel, while templates offer flexibility for cross-site or cross-funnel design.
These approaches facilitate easy updates to keep your brand’s online presence fresh and impactful.
